LOS ANGELES, Dec 26 — The trailer of the follow-up to Prometheus, directed by Ridley Scott, hit the web this weekend, and it’s a tale of monstrous creatures with plenty of screaming and gore.

The second prequel to the 1979 classic, Alien, the new feature follows the crew of the colony ship Covenant on their journey to a distant and apparently paradisiacal planet, which turns out to be a dark and dangerous world that hides a terrible threat.

Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Katherine Waterston and James Franco top the cast list for the film.
