LOS ANGELES, Dec 13 — Patrick Wilson is the latest actor to join the cast of Aquaman.

According to Deadline, he will play Orm, the evil half-brother of Aquaman, as played by Jason Momoa.

Orm is probably better known to DC Comics fans as Ocean Master, the villain who frequently challenges Aquaman for the right to sit on the throne of Atlantis.

Wilson’s casting comes as no surprise.

He is a favourite of Aquaman director James Wan, having helmed The Conjuring and Insidious franchises.

This is also not the first time that Wilson has been involved in a superhero movie.

He played Nite Owl in Zack Snyder's adaptation of cult comic, Watchmen.

Aquaman opens in cinemas on October 5, 2018.
