LOS ANGELES, Dec 7 — A trailer for a new thriller starring Tom Hanks and Emma Watson has surfaced, offering up a first look at The Circle.

Based on the bestselling sci-fi novel by Dave Eggers, the story features Hanks as a charismatic founder of a tech company called The Circle, which takes the notion of Big Brother to new levels.

Watson plays the role of Mae Holland, a new recruit at The Circle which turns out to be more than it appears.

"Without secrets, without the hoarding of knowledge and information, we can finally realise our potential,” says Hanks’ character Eamon Bailey.

"We will see it all. If it happens, we’ll know.”

Star Wars alum John Boyega also stars.
