Did Jennifer Lawrence anger Hawaiian gods with her butt-scratching antics? (VIDEO)

LONDON, Dec 5 — You know what they say: Sometimes, when you have an itch to scratch, you just can’t ignore it.

This would appear to be the case with Jennifer Lawrence — except she almost killed a Hunger Games crew member in the process.

During a recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show, she revealed how she almost maimed a worker on the Hawaiian set of the franchise’s second instalment, Catching Fire, when she inadvertently dislodged a boulder she was using to scratch her backside.

"One rock that I was butt-scratching on ended up coming loose, and it was a giant boulder and it rolled down this mountain and it almost killed our sound guy,” she told the audience before reassuring everyone that he walked away unscathed.

But it seems that the incident may have been a warning from the Hawaiian gods not to mess with local superstitions.

Lawrence, who plays Katniss Everdeen in the wildly popular movie series, confessed that she had been warned that the rocks were sacred and "you’re not supposed to sit on them because you’re not supposed to expose your genitalia to them.”

And because the locals became so alarmed by the sudden dislodgement of one of the sacred rocks, a sheepish Lawrence was forced to fess up to what she had done.

"All the Hawaiians were like, ‘It’s the curse!’ and I’m over in the corner going, ‘I’m your curse. I wedged it loose with my (backside),’" she added.
