Filming is set to start somewhere in the middle of November this year with the movie underlining the importance of family ties and traditional values just like the first film.

However, what would be an additional theme this time around is the concept of ‘it’s never too late to express love’.

"I like to write and direct a movie about life; something real. So when it comes to the matter, you can’t avoid love and relationship — and the complication behind it,” said Teong, as quoted by Kr8tif Express.

The heart-warming family drama will also retain some of its cast members such as Tommy Tam, Sarah Tan and Jason Tan, in addition to two new faces, local actress Debbie Goh and Hong Kong’s rising star, Shaun Tam.

Critically and commercially well received, The Kid from the Big Apple bagged many international accolades and also made over RM6 million in ticket sales.

Fans can certainly keep their hopes up high for yet another heart touching entertainer from the award winning writer and director. — Cinema Online
