LOS ANGELES, Oct 6 — Rachel McAdams is poised to play Rachel Weisz’s lesbian lover in the film adaptation of Disobedience.

Adapted from the Naomi Alderman novel, the story follows a woman (Weisz) who returns to her Orthodox Jewish home following the death of her estranged father. Upon her return she rekindles a repressed love for her best friend (McAdams) who is now married to her cousin.

Weisz will star and produce the film. Production is slated to begin next year.
