OTATWA, Sept 29 — Canadian artist The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) has released the music video to accompany his new single Starboy, featuring French electronic music duo Daft Punk.

The singer/songwriter has also earmarked November 25 as the drop date for his next album — also titled Starboy — which is the follow-up to his acclaimed second studio album, Beauty Behind The Madness.

The clip for Starboy is a nod to the birth of his new persona via the record, and sees the artist noticeably change his physical appearance, with the video depicting the transition via a shot of a masked Tesfaye killing his former persona while he is gagged and tied to a dining chair (via NME).

Daft Punk, who co-wrote the track also appear briefly in the music clip, which has been nominated for "Best Video” at the upcoming MTV EMAs. — AFP-Relaxnews
