LOS ANGELES, Sept 28 — Forbes has just named Kevin Hart as the highest-paid comedian with earnings of US$87.5 million (RM362 million).

The business magazine said the success of films Central Intelligence and Secret Life of Pets as well as his lucrative What Now? comedy tour had helped Hart to dethrone longtime earnings leader Jerry Seinfeld, who made US$43.5 million.

The rankings are based on estimated income from June 2015 to June 2016.

Meanwhile, Amy Schumer made history as the first woman to land in Forbes’ Top 10 list of highest paid comedians.

She came in fourth behind Terry Fator with earnings of US$17 million.

Other big names include Jeff Dunham in fifth with US$13.5 million, Dave Chapelle in sixth with US$13 million and Jim Gaffigan in seventh with US$12.5 million.

Rounding off the top 10 are Gabriel Iglesias (US$9.5 million), Russell Peters (US$9 million) and John Bishop (US$7 million).
