LOS ANGELES, Sept 15 — Australian actor Jason Clarke is in negotiations to join Helen Mirren in a starring role in the upcoming thriller Winchester, reports Variety.

The film centres on firearms heiress Sarah Winchester, who constructs a mansion in hopes of keeping evil spirits away after the deaths of her husband and child. Clarke would play San Francisco psychiatrist Eric Price.

Tom Vaughan has written the screenplay for the film, with Michael and Peter Spierig directing.

Clarke can be seen in The Great Gatsby (2013), Everest (2015) and the upcoming HHhH. — AFP-Relaxnews
