LOS ANGELES, Sept 7 — Ex-One Direction band member Zayn Malik is set to join forces with Law & Order creator Dick Wolf for a new, scripted NBC series titled Boys.

The series, based on Malik’s own experiences as a member of the boy band, will chronicle a similar group’s rise to fame.

Sherri Cooper Landsman and Jennifer Levin will act as head writers for the series, with Wolf’s wife, Noelle Wolf, also attached to produce with Universal Television, in association with Wolf Films.

The tie-up marks the first TV foray for Malik, who left One Direction abruptly in the midst of a world tour in March 2015, and has since released a solo album titled Mind of Mine (via Rolling Stone). — AFP-Relaxnews
