LOS ANGELES, Sept 6 — Malaysians love a good conspiracy theory (UFOs over Kuala Krai, anyone?) so they will probably relish this latest one involving the King of Pop himself that’s been doing the rounds on social media lately.

Fans of Michael Jackson who believe that the singer faked his own death in 2009 are convinced that he is alive after ‘spotting’ him in a selfie taken by his daughter Paris.

It all began when she posted a photo on Instagram in May, of herself seated in a car with a pile of clothes on the passenger seat behind her.

Fans say the clothes are the late singer in disguise.

A video on YouTube offers ‘evidence’ to back up the claim by zooming in on the photo’s foreground until it eventually turns into her father’s face.

It was posted by user Believe, who regularly posts videos claiming Jackson’s death was a hoax.

The rumours surrounding the photo have intensified after Jackson’s 19-year-old son Prince Jackson wrote a poem in honour of his late father.

Its lines include: "To many he is a king/To me a man/All he inspires/To lead a noble cause/Everyone is family, not a fan even while receiving thunderous applause.”

What do you think? Can you see the King of Pop in the pile of clothes? Or does Paris just own a messy car like the rest of us?
