Biopic on Holocaust survivor Viktor Frankl in the works

LOS ANGELES, Aug 11 — A biopic based on Holocaust survivor Viktor Frankl, author of the novel Man’s Search for Meaning, is in the works, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, to be developed by Hands of Stone producers Jay Weisleder and Ben Silverman through their Fuego Films banner has been titled The Search, with a script penned by Adam Gibgot.

The feature will focus mainly on the years following Frankl’s liberation, with particular emphasis on the unique relationship Frankl developed with Jerry Long, a former baseball prodigy, through a correspondence that began in the early 1980s.

The producers have also optioned the life rights of Eleonore Frankl, the author’s widow. — AFP-Relaxnews
