Toronto Film Fest announces slate of world premieres

TORONTO, Aug 4 — Eighteen world premieres and six North American premieres comprise the Toronto International Film Festival’s headline Canadian roster ahead of the ten-day September event.

North American premieres include It’s Only the End of the World from six-time Cannes award winner Xavier Dolan, starring Vincent Cassel, Marion Cotillard and Léa Seydoux.

Feature-length animation Window Horses, with Anne Marie Fleming directing the likes of Sandra Oh, Ellen Page, and Shohreh Aghdashloo, is also among its list of continental debutants, as is Kim Nyugen’s Two Lovers and a Bear starring Tatiana Maslany of Orphan Black.

Announced world premieres include Deepa Mehta’s Anatomy of Violence, Alanis Obomsawin’s We Can’t Make the Same Mistake Twice, April Mullen’s Below Her Mouth and Bruce McDonald’s Weirdos.

The announcement also extends to cover documentaries, world cinema, and selections from TIFF’s Discovery, Vanguard, Cinematheque and Primetime programmes. — AFP-Relaxnews
