LOS ANGELES, Aug 3 — December TV broadcast Hairspray Live! has announced Rosie O’Donnell and Sean Hayes as members of its cast.

The NBC live show is set for December 7, installing Rosie O’Donnell as the high school musical’s gym teacher and Sean Hayes as clothing store owner Mr Pinky, reports Variety.

O’Donnell won 11 Daytime Emmys for her late 1990s and early 2000s talk show and has since appeared in episodes of Nip/Tuck, Drop Dead Diva, Empire and The Fosters in addition to hosting The View.

Hayes co-starred in NBC’s sitcom Will & Grace, earning an Emmy in the process, as well as Sean Saves the World and The Millers.

Maddie Baillio stars as Hairspray lead Tracy Turnblad, a teenager who defies expectations to become a dancer, model, and influential supporter of racial integration.

Previously announced cast members have included Martin Short, Kristin Chenoweth, Ariana Grande, Garrett Clayton and Dove Cameron. — AFP-Relaxnews
