Nicole Scherzinger joins the cast of Disney’s ‘Moana’

LOS ANGELES, July 26 — Nicole Scherzinger has reportedly signed on for Disney’s upcoming animated film Moana.

According to reports, Scherzinger will voice the titular character's strong-willed mother, Sina, who is desperate to protect Moana from danger as she sets sail on a life-changing journey across the sea.

The movie tells the story of heroic princess Moana (voiced by Auli’i Cravalho) who sets sail on a daring adventure to prove herself a master sailor and save her people, enlisting the help of the demi-god Maui (Dwayne Johnson) along the way.

Rachel House, Temuera Morrison, Alan Tudyk, and Jemaine Clement, have also signed on to join the film.

The synopsis of the movie reads: "In the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania, Moana, a born navigator, sets sail in search of a fabled island. During her incredible journey, she teams up with her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui, to traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore.”

Moana is scheduled for release on November 23.
