LOS ANGELES, July 20 — NBC has backed a dance competition series to be presided over by superstar Jennifer Lopez, with casting already in the pipeline.

The straight-to-series ten-episode order, titled World of Dance, will be the second second dance competition show at NBC with a celebrity at the helm, following a six-episode order for the same from actor Channing Tatum and wife Jenna Dewan Tatum.

Commenting on the tie-up in a video announcement, heralding a casting call, Lopez described the upcoming show as a "fierce talent-heavy dance competition that embraces the raw emotion and excitement that dance represents.”

The show is expected to feature solo artists competing against duos and crews in all genres of dance, including hip hop, krumping, popping, with the winner to receive a grand prize of one million dollars, according to Variety. — AFP-Relaxnews
