LOS ANGELES, July 14 — Check out this new trailer for upcoming drama A Monster Calls, which is based on the children’s fantasy novel by Patrick Ness.
The film stars newcomer Lewis MacDougall as 12-year-old Conor who attempts to deal with his mother’s illness and bullying by his classmates by escaping into a fantasy world of monsters and fairy tales.
Felicity Jones plays Conor’s mother, who is diagnosed with terminal cancer, while Toby Kebbell joins as Conor’s dad. Sigourney Weaver is in place as Conor’s grandmother and Liam Neeson plays the titular monster.
Directed by Juan Antonio Bayona, A Monster Calls is set for release in October.
