LOS ANGELES, June 30 — Miles Teller stars in Bleed for This as Vinny Pazienza — the Pazmanian Devil — a boxer who came back from career-ending injury to regain his status as a world champion pugilist.

Rhode Island-born Vinny Pazienza was the WBA World Jr Middleweight champ when his next was broken in a 1991 car accident.

Told that he might not ever walk again, let alone fight, he recovered to win four more world titles.

Miles Teller has shot to fame since his breakthrough performance in Whiplash, and has since been seen in the Divergent movies as well as superhero film Fantastic Four and romcoms That Awkward Moment and Two Night Stand.

Director Ben Younger helmed financial crime drama Boiler Room and then romantic comedy Prime.

Katey Sagal, Ciarán Hinds, Amanda Clayton, Aaron Eckhart, and Ted Levine also star.

The film is due to go on US general release from November 23, 2016.

Last year, Sylvester Stallone starred alongside Michael B. Jordan in Rocky franchise continuation Creed, which took US$174 million (RM700 million) at the box office, and saw Stallone nominated for an Oscar and win a Golden Globe.
