Stephen King movie ‘It’ finds its clown, Pennywise

LOS ANGELES, June 3 — The big screen adaptation of Stephen King’s spine-tingling novel It is beginning to take shape with the casting of Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise the Clown.

Skarsgard is in final talks to bring the terrifying clown to life in the New Line production, that will be directed by Andy Muschietti (Mama).

The film will be told in two parts. The first tells the backstory of how a group of teens in the “Losers Club” defeat the malevolent creature called It, while the second focuses on the teens as adults, who are forced to confront the evil entity once again.

Also starring in the film is Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs and Jeremy Ray Taylor.

Skarsgard is the son of Stellan Skarsgard and brother of Alexander Skarsgard.
