LOS ANGELES, May 15 — Nick Jonas says his new video reflects an “incredibly personal” song in an interview with Vogue.

In the former boy-band star’s video for his song Chainsaw, moved by the memories of a lost love, he takes a chainsaw to the furniture and burns down his house.

The song is from his new album, Last Year Was Complicated, which he told Out magazine was about his breakup with Olivia Culpo, a former Miss USA, with whom he had a two-year relationship.

“With this one I made a real point to tell stories as honestly as I could,” he said. “It became very clear what it was going to be about, after the breakup. I just dove in headfirst and wrote about all of it. I think it was the most meaningful relationship I’ve ever been in, and it was the longest.”

Last Year Was Complicated is scheduled for release on June 10. — AFP-Relaxnews
