SINGAPORE, April 23 — It’s not just the triple towers of Marina Bay Sands that will face the wrath of alien forces (or humans) in Independence Day: Resurgence.
A new trailer for the film released yesterday shows other prominent buildings in the Central Business District, including 16 Collyer Quay, being destroyed.
An earlier version of the trailer released in February was the first to reveal that Singapore would come under attack in the film, scheduled to be released in June.

Independence Day: Resurgence is the highly-anticipated sequel to the 1996 blockbuster Independence Day. It continues where the previous instalment left off, telling the story of aliens who threaten the human race with a mass invasion, some 20 years after the first failed invasion.
The film stars Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum and Jessie Usher. Unlike its prequel, the film will not star Will Smith.
Singapore was previously transformed into a fictitious battleground in Jack Neo’s Ah Boys to Men, released in 2012. — TODAY
