LOS ANGELES, April 22 — Fans of the Sherlock Holmes films will be happy to note that Robert Downey Jr has confirmed that he will be back for the third film in the popular franchise.
Downey Jr revealed, while in the United Kingdom touring to promote Captain America: Civil War, that he hopes to start work on the film this year and will be meeting with director Guy Ritchie to discuss details.
“We’re talking about it right now. We can do some preliminary stuff,” Downey Jr told ShortList.
“If we could shoot it on Skype, we could have the whole [movie] done in a week. When we’re making those Sherlock movies it is off the hook. We’ll attempt to make one this year. It really is a big deal to go and do those movies. I’m tired all the time, but I’m so excited about it."
Sherlock Holmes debuted in theatres in 2009 with its sequel Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows premiering in 2011.
