LOS ANGELES, April 14 ― Doug Jones is set to star in the title role in the remake of Nosferatu reports Variety.
Directed by F.W. Murnau and based on Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Nosferatu was originally released back in 1922.
The iconic horror film has long been regarded as the first true vampire movie, paving the way for many more to come. The new remake, by David Lee Fisher, will also draw on the original, and include colorised digital backgrounds recreated from the black and white silent film.
Jones is known for his previous fantasy and superhero roles including Abe Sapien from Hellboy, the Pale Man from Pan’s Labyrinth and the Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
Also confirmed for the film are Mamma Mia cast member Emrhys Cooper, Ellen star Joely Fisher, Sarah Carter, and Jake Turner. ― AFP-Relaxnews
