LOS ANGELES, April 1 — Step aside Snow White, it’s time for your sister Rose Red to get her own Disney tale.

That’s right, Disney is working on a live-action film called Rose Red, which tells the story of Snow White’s estranged sister which will be produced by Trip Vinson.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney has picked up a script written by Justin Merz, which is being reworked by Evan Daugherty (Snow White and the Huntsman), that reworks the familiar fairy tale so that after Snow White bites the poison apple and falls into a death-like slumber, Rose Red joins forces with the Seven Dwarfs on a dangerous journey to break the curse and bring her sister back to life

Rose Red is a character that did appear in the original Grimm Brothers’ fairy tale, but she appears in a story unrelated to the well-known version of Snow White.
