HONG KONG, March 31 — Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau and his Malaysian-born wife Carol Chu are expecting a second child.
Next Magazine ‘broke’ the news on Tuesday, with a cover photo of the 50-year-old mother-to-be purportedly sporting a baby bump.
The accompanying report claimed that she is about four months along.
According to The Straits Times, Lau has added fuel to the fire by neither denying nor confirming the report, when contacted by Apple Daily.
All he said was: “No comment, thank you for your concern.”
Lau and Chu have a four-year-old daughter called Hanna.
However, the 54-year-old Heavenly King has made no bones about the fact he yearns for a son.
Next Magazine said the couple had become vegetarians and prayed to Buddha to bless them with another child.
The report added that Chu began receiving regular artificial insemination a year after Hanna’s birth.
It quoted an unnamed source as saying: “Each time it failed, she would wait two weeks and try again.
“Andy didn’t want his wife to suffer too much and made it clear they would try two more years, till she’s 50, then give up. But they succeeded in the end.”
