LOS ANGELES, March 11 ― Jake Gyllenhaal is joining Ryan Reynolds in the upcoming sci-fi film Life.

Written by Deadpool duo Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, the film is about the crew of the International SpaceStation who retrieve a sample from Mars, which displays signs of life and turns out be more intelligent than expected.

Rebecca Ferguson also stars in the Skydance movie.
