“As of yesterday, the response the film received is very unusual. InsyaAllah, with tonight’s collection (yesterday), Munafik might gross RM4.3 million in the span of seven days in cinemas,” he told BH Online.

Recently, the film made RM2.3 million after just four days of screening.

In the meantime, the Khurafat director who had been on break from the industry a few years ago admits he will be satisfied if his film succeeds to collect RM4 million, for which it already has.

The Skop Production film tells the story of an Islamic medical practitioner who cannot accept the fact that his wife died. He later agrees to treat a woman named Maria who is disturbed by a demon and then has to go through many strange experiences.

Munafik premiered on February 25 and stars Nabila Huda, Fizz Fairuz, Pekin Ibrahim, Sabrina Ali, A. Galak, Datuk Rahim Razali and Syamsul himself. — Cinema Online
