KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 — Syamsul Yusof’s decision to make a comeback after years of silence proves to be worth the wait as his latest horror film Munafik successfully collected RM2.3 million in just four days at cinemas.

“Undeniably, the word of mouth promotion was among the appeal that attracted horror movie-goers.

“Almost everyone who watched the film gave their positive feedback in regards to Syamsul’s direction”, said Datuk Yusof Haslam, the head of Skop Production.

Yusof Haslam added that he would not have thought that Munafik would also get a massive response from the Bruneian and Singaporean audience.

Meanwhile, he mentioned that the audience was interested to watch his son’s film at the cinemas because it has a complex storyline with Islamic elements.

He also hopes that the audience would get to take back the teachings shown in the film.

Munafik features a cast lineup made up of Nabila Huda, Fizz Fairuz, Sabrina Ali, Pekin Ibrahim, A Galak and Syamsul himself. — Cinema Online
