LOS ANGELES, Feb 18 — Gwen Stefani has admitted that her new song Make Me Like You is indeed about the new love of her life, Blake Shelton.
Stefani had debuted the track with a live music video at the Grammy Awards and while on the Jimmy Kimmel Live!, recently, she gave in to Jimmy Kimmel’s prodding and admitted that the song is about her Voice costar.
“It is, actually, yeah. I will admit that that song is about that guy. ... What’s so crazy is that sometimes tragedy — if you really absorb it, you can turn it into something beautiful. This whole album is about trying to take something awful and, just, I don’t know, healing from it and then turn it into something beautiful.”
Stefani says the pair started dating after both of them announced they were divorcing their spouses last summer. “What’s so crazy is like, sometimes tragedy, if you really absorb it, you can turn it into something beautiful, and this whole album is really about just trying to take something that’s awful and just, I don’t know, healing from it,” she told Kimmel.
That’s not all, Stefani in a different interview also revealed that she’s only had two boyfriends in her life — one of them being Shelton.
“You know I’ve only had two boyfriends, right?” Stefani said when asked if she has a type. “So I’m not like — when you say that, it just sounds funny. It’s just so limited. No, I do not [have a type]. That’s a funny question. I’m gonna just stop right there,” US Weekly quoted her as saying to K-Earth 101 FM.
