LOS ANGELES, Jan 8 — It certainly looks like Miranda Kerr and former husband Orlando Bloom are managing their friendship post break-up really well.
In a recent interview Kerr with Net-a-Porter’s weekly digital magazine, got candid about what she called her “modern family” with Bloom, their five-year-old son Flynn and her latest love, Snapchat.com founder Evan Spiegel.
Kerr explained that it was crucial for them to stay amicable for the sake of Flynn. “Flynn was two, so it was really hard to make the decision, but our son is our priority so you have to come from love,” she shared. “You have to be kind.”
Interestingly, she and Bloom made a rule about introducing new love interests to their son.
“[Orlando and I decided] that we had to know the person for six months and feel good about them [before introducing them to Flynn]... Evan met Flynn, so yeah, things are going well. Orlando thinks he’s great. We’re just a modern family now!”
Kerr seems smitten with her new man, who is seven years younger than she is, but whom she describes as having a middle-aged soul.
“He’s 25, but he acts like he’s 50. He’s not out partying. He goes to work in Venice (California), he comes home. We don’t go out. We’d rather be at home and have dinner, go to bed early. (But) in some ways he does (feel like a younger man). I’m telling you, I’ve got the best of both worlds.”
