Just as its name suggests, the feature film programme, which is designed in partnership with the Creative Content Association Malaysia (CCAM), will showcase recent Malaysian titles. The introduction on CIFF's website stated that programme aims to "present the dynamism and diversity of Malaysian cinema today." Four films have been selected for the programme this year, with the oldest in the lineup being 2013's "KIL". Directed by Nik Amir Mustapha, it is one of the more stylistic films that have come out of the local movie industry in recent years. Another film of Nik's, "Terbaik Dari Langit (otherwise known as "Nova"), is also part of the lineup.

Chiu Keng Guan's "The Journey", which is one of Malaysia's biggest box-office hits, completes the programme along with Gavin Yap's "Take Me to Dinner".

Meanwhile, another programme, Best Malaysian Shorts 2000-2015, shines the spotlight on short films. Some of the titles included are Liew Seng Tat's "Don't Play Play", Daven Raghavan's "My father and his celluloid", Amir Muhammad's "Pangyau", Woo Ming Jin's "It's possible your heart cannot be broken", and Taufiq's "Rozita Binti Roslan".
