LOS ANGELES, Nov 26 — It looks like the next “Men in Black” film could finally be getting a prominent female agent.
In a recent interview with BBC, “MIB” producer Laurie McDonald said that the next movie won’t be so literal with the “men” part of Men in Black and could see a leading lady sporting MIB’s signature shades.
“There will be a prominent woman in black in the fourth,” she said, not giving any other big information about the movie. “We are quite early on it,” she explained.
The final moments of the first “Men in Black” movie teased a new partnership between Will Smith’s Agent Jay and Linda Fiorentino’s newly recruited Laurel Weaver, with the former rookie and the former mortician stepping up to protect the Earth from the scum of the universe.
This was not-so-elegantly sidestepped in the sequel, so let’s hope we’ll finally get to see a woman in a black suit, armed with advanced weaponry and ready to police Earth’s alien population.
