LOS ANGELES, Nov 19 — She may seem fearless as Katniss Everdeen, but Jennifer Lawrence had fears when filming her very first sex scene with Chris Pratt recently.
In a roundtable interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she revealed about how “bizarre” the experience was, and how it left her drunk and calling her mum for support. In order to prepare for filming it, she didn’t know what else to do but drink.
“I got really, really drunk,” she admits. “But then that led to more anxiety when I got home because I was like, ‘What have I done? I don’t know.’ And he was married. And it was going to be my first time kissing a married man, and guilt is the worst feeling in your stomach. And I knew it was my job, but I couldn’t tell my stomach that. So I called my mum, and I was like, ‘Will you just tell me it’s OK?’”
She continues, “It was just very vulnerable. And you don’t know what’s too much. You want to do it real, you want everything to be real, but then…That was the most vulnerable I’ve ever been.”
According to Cinema Blend, Lawrence also did not shy away when asked to compare how it felt to lock lips with Pratt and her fellow “Hunger Games” stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson.
“I don’t know him as well as I know Josh and Liam… It doesn’t feel as much like making out with a family member. Not that I’m against that — I’m from Kentucky.”
The roundtable also included Carey Mulligan, Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet, Jane Fonda, Helen Mirren, Brie Larson and Charlotte Rampling, and they talked about the gender pay gap in Hollywood and the difficulty finding good roles for women.
