LOS ANGELES, Nov 4 — Even Peters has just revealed what his character Quicksilver is going to be up to in the “X-Men: Apocalypse” film.
In a recent interview with Details magazine, Peters confirmed that his character will be able to grow into the amazing character he was always destined to become.
“The story is that my character is searching for his father and wants to find him,” Peters said. “It starts there and then he jumps on the X-Men train and gets sucked up in this whole Apocalypse madness: He tries to stop him from destroying the world.”
Quicksilver’s father is almost certainly Magneto, something hinted at in “X-Men: Days of Future Past”. According to Comicbook, Quicksilver will be looking for Magneto to seek out the truth about their relationship. Following the death of his new family, Magneto becomes one of Apocalypse’s Horsemen, which likely leads Quicksilver to join up with the X-Men and attempt to prevent his father from helping Apocalypse cull the Earth.
The official synopsis for the “X-Men: Apocalypse” says: “Since the dawn of civilisation, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible.
“Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign.
“As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.”
Peters’ reveal does let in on how Quicksilver becomes part of the X-Men.
