LOS ANGELES, Oct 31 — Harrison Ford stopped by the sets of Jimmy Kimmel’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” yesterday and revealed a juicy secret about his character in the “Star Wars” trilogy: He asked for Han Solo to be killed off!

Dressed in a hot dog costume for Halloween, Ford explained to Kimmel, who was dressed as Princess Leia, how he asked for his iconic Han Solo character to be killed off.

“I asked him [George Lucas] to ask the writers to kill me off because I thought that it would be good that the character who appeared to have not-so-much of a complex, interweaving with the theme of the Force and all that good stuff… I thought it would be good that the character would, if he sacrificed himself in some noble way.”

George Lucas had previously told Empire magazine that Ford had repeatedly asked to be killed off after his character was frozen in carbonite in the fifth movie, “The Empire Strikes Back”.

Of course, when Kimmel asked him, “Are you glad now that Han Solo did not get killed off?” Ford was quick to respond with a “Yes.”

Ford did not reveal details about forthcoming “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, but he had this to say: “I can tell you this: It’s really, really good. Trust me. It’s really good. The new cast, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac are phenomenal. J.J. [Abrams] has made an incredible movie. You will not be disappointed. At all.”
