LOS ANGELES, Oct 22 — Laverne Cox (“Orange is the New Black”) will star as Frank-N-Furter in the TV remake of the “Rocky Horror Picture Show.”

Fox has cast Laverne Cox as the mad, sexually ambiguous Transylvanian scientist/alien Dr Frank-N-Furter. Tim Curry was the first actor to play the role, which has since become iconic.

“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” is celebrating 40 years of theatrical distribution, an industry record. The plot centers on a young couple who find themselves at a bizarre convention, held to celebrate the creation of Rocky Horror, the doctor’s sexual plaything.

Fox plans to produce a 2-hour television show, directed and choreographed by Kenny Ortega. The film will debut in fall 2016. — AFP-Relaxnews
