LOS ANGELES, Sept 28 — If you were one of the many fans left scratching their heads over the puzzling dream sequence involving Thor in “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, fret not.
Marvel has just released a deleted scene featuring everyone’s favourite Norse god, ahead of the film’s release on Blu-ray on October 2, that should shed some light on what has now become known as the “cave scene.”
While it appeared briefly in the trailer, the scene didn’t actually make the final cut, after studio execs asked that it be completely excised, according to director Joss Whedon.
In the movie’s theatrical cut, Thor leaves the Avengers and joins Dr Selvig in an underground cave with a pool.
Thor wades into said pool, has a vision that involves Infinity Stones, and then re-joins his superhero pals to defeat Ultron.
While not really explaining much about the pool or how Thor is aware of its existence in the first place, the deleted scene lends some much-needed context to the dream sequence that has left many fans baffled.

In this version, Thor grabs a drink from his flask before being possessed by a Norn, one of three female beings who control the destinies of both gods and mortals.
Selvig then asks Norn/Thor a few questions that illuminate the broader plot and trajectory of the Avengers movies.
