HONG KONG, Sept 28 — Speculation that Zhang Ziyi’s due date is imminent has reached fever pitch, after her fiancé Wang Feng was spotted in Los Angeles recently.

According to various gossip sites, the Chinese actress has allegedly stopped taking film roles and ceased all public appearances since her promotional commitments for her sci-fi film “Oh My God” ended last month.

Zhang, who is rumoured to be at least six months’ pregnant, has reportedly retreated to the United States to await the baby’s arrival.

The rumour mill started churning again after sharp-eyed fans spotted Wang playing poker at a casino in LA recently.

Zhang and her 44-year-old rock star beau announced their engagement in February, and there are even unconfirmed reports claiming that the couple registered their marriage in Hong Kong soon after.

The 36-year-old actress caused quite a stir at the press conference for “Oh My God” in August when she appeared with a baby bump, although her representative later dismissed it as a prosthetic to complement her character in the film.

“Oh My God” tells the tale of two couples with a baby “delivered from the heavens,” according to the film’s poster.

Last month, Chengdu’s Huaxi Metropolitan Daily quoted an unnamed source close to Zhang’s family as saying that her parents were elated with her pregnancy.

The source also said the “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” actress is due in December.

Meanwhile, the I Am Paparazzi website published a photo of Zhang at a spa with what appeared to be a protruding belly.

The couple have yet to confirm the pregnancy reports. If true, this will be their first child together.
