SINGAPORE, Sept 16 — Those who can’t get enough of music festivals will want to note this date down: November 21.
That’s when the Skechers Sundown Festival returns for its seventh outing.
This edition features headlining artistes from around Asia, such as Thailand’s Potato, Japan’s INKT, Indonesia’s J-Rocks and Singapore’s Caracal.
The festival will also feature fringe acts comprising up and coming artistes.
These include Cheryl Loon, Cashew Chemists, Ground Zero and Farrago.
Samantha Chan, director of festival organisers Red Spade Entertainment, said: “The local music scene has evolved positively over the years, and we now see more local bands making it big within Singapore and internationally.
"We are keen on giving them a place to showcase their talent, especially one where they can share the stage with other top regional bands.”
Kelvin Goh, director of Red Spade Entertainment added: “Over the past six years, we have brought more than 70 acts and artistes from 11 countries across the region together and achieved our goal of uniting Asian musicians on one platform.
Now, we have our sights firmly set on growing the Sundown Festival even more and taking it to regional locations around Asia in the future.”
“Skechers has a long history working with global music artistes,” said Susan Chua, vice president of Skechers Asean.
“We’re excited to be presenting the festival once more to show our support towards the progress of Asian music, giving a platform to Asian musicians to showcase their unique sounds.”
The Skechers Sundown Festival will be held at the Marina Promenade, F1 Pit Area, on Nov 21. Tickets go on sale on Peatix from Sept 18 (tickets will also be made available on SISTIC from Oct 1).
