KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 — With R&B singer-songwriter and dancer Jason Derulo set to rock the MTV World Stage Malaysia 2015 this Saturday (Sept 12) at Surf Beach, Sunway Lagoon, here are 10 things fans ought to know about the superstar crooner:

1. Lady Gaga is a fan of Jason Derulo! The “Born This Way” singer had the US star open for some of her shows on 'The Monster Ball' tour back in 2010.

2. Jason records many of his hits at home. The 'Don't Wanna Go Home' singer has set up his own recording studio at his house for when that all-important inspiration takes hold.

3. Jason is the baby of his family! The youngest Derulo also has both an older brother and an older sister.

4. He played basketball in high school. His high school team was the No. 14 team in the country and won four state titles in Florida.

5. Jason sleeps about four hours per night and cannot wake himself up. Someone has to wake him up by either banging on his door or physically shaking him

6. He dated his childhood sweetheart all through high school, and thought for sure that he  would marry her.

7. He had a grapefruit tree in his backyard growing up so grapefruit was always an ingredient for every meal. He no longer likes grapefruit.

8. He was chubby for a few years of his childhood and was insecure about taking his shirt off at the pool, so he wore a T-shirt in the pool. Now, he rips it off at every show!

9. Jason’s ethnicity is Haitian-American and he’s proud of it!

10. He has been performing since the age of 5!
