‘Friends’ deleted scene resurfaces after being cut following 9/11 (VIDEO)

LOS ANGELES, Aug 19 — “Friends” went off the air 11 years ago, but now a deleted scene from the beloved sitcom is going viral after it was originally uploaded to YouTube in 2007.

The clip involves Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Monica (Courteney Cox) being taken for terrorists as they leave for their honeymoon. Writers cut the footage because the episode title “The One Where Rachel Tells Ross” was due to air two weeks after 9/11.

In the scenes, the newlyweds are going through airport security when Chandler makes a poorly timed joke about a bomb and is dragged away by the TSA agents for questioning. The gag was later replaced with a scene of Monica getting jealous of another newlywed couple at the airport.

An opening slide to the clip reads: “As part of the history of the show, we hope that the scenes can now be viewed in the spirit which they were originally intended.”
