LOS ANGELES, Aug 16 — It seems that The Fantastic Four reboot didn’t have a chance from the very beginning. A recent The Hollywood Reporter piece said that director Josh Trank’s being difficult to work with was just part of it.
His overbearing nature and bad relationship with the cast made the studio consider firing Trank, but by then it was far too late in the process.
Instead, producers cobbled together a new ending, doing reshoots without key actors while director Drew Goddard supervised.
A crewmember said that Fox also had to bear some of the blame as the film was “ill-conceived, made for the wrong reasons” and also there was “no vision” behind the film’s conception.
It seems that being a Marvel property isn't enough for a film to succeed and someone should send a memo to Fox.
