BANGKOK, July 31 — If you’re headed to Bangkok this weekend, why not slip in a Cirque du Soleil performance in between all that shopping and eating?
The legendary Canadian circus troupe are currently dazzling Bangkok residents at the city’s Impact Area until August 3, according to The Bangkok Post.
Under the tutelage of director Franco Dragone, the show that’s been selected for Cirque du Soleil’s first performance in Thailand is “Quidam”.
It tells the story of Zoé, a lonely girl who is neglected by her parents, until she goes down to her dreamscape, an imaginary world where she meets surreal characters and adventures who entertain and guide her back to reality.
As with all Cirque du Soleil performances, the cast of over 100 acrobatic artists promise a fully immersive entertainment experience with an awe-inspiring display involving exceptional choreography, costume, surrealism and special effects.
A particular highlight of “Quidam” is the aerial acts that utilise a specially-designed conveyor that arches over the stage, allowing the performers to glide into different positions.
* “Cirque du Soleil Quidam Live in Bangkok 2015” is being staged at Impact Arena Muang Thong Thani until August 3. Tickets start from Bt1,000 (RM108) and are available online www.ThaiTicketMajor.com.
