ROME, July 29 — Diane Keaton will be coming to the small screen, joining Jude Law in a drama set in Vatican City — the first time she’s played a regular role on a TV series.

Keaton will play the role of Sister Mary, an American nun in “The Young Pope.”

The eight-episode series will revolve around Pontificate of Pius XIII, born Lenny Belardo (Law) and follow the young Pontiff as he struggles to navigate his role as the as messenger of God amidst betrayal and abandonment.

The show, which goes into production this week, was created by Paolo Sorrentino and is jointly produced by Sky, HBO and Canal Plus. — AFP/Relaxnews
