SAN DIEGO, July 11 — When the ‘Game of Thrones’ director David Nutter met US President Barack Obama, the American leader had one pressing question for him: Is Jon Snow really dead?

“Three weeks ago, I was the in the company of the President of the United States,” Nutter told Entertainment Weekly at the San Diego Comic-Con.

He told the website, “(Obama) turned to me, put his hand on my shoulder, and said, ‘You didn’t kill Jon Snow, did you?’”

“I said, ‘Jon Snow is deader than dead.’”

Obama reportedly complained, “You keep killing off my favourite characters.”

Author George R.R. Martin, whose books the HBO series is based on, is known for killing off major characters throughout the series.

However, fans are still hopeful that they will see the character, played by actor Kit Harington, return to the series in the next season of the show.
