LOS ANGELES, July 4 — Katherine Heigl is starring in another wedding movie, but this time it does not involve dresses or being the bridesmaid.

In “Jenny’s Wedding”, Heigl plays the titular Jenny who is in a long-term relationship with her girlfriend, played by Alexis Bledel. When the two decide to marry, Jenny decides that it’s finally time to tell her conservative family the truth about her sexuality.

Her parents struggle — played by Tom Wilkinson and Linda Emond — to accept that their daughter is gay, but they seem to come around by the end of the new trailer.

Grace Gummer also stars in the film, which was written and directed by Mary Agnes Donoghue, who penned “Beaches” and “White Oleander”.

This dream “Gilmore Girls” meets “Grey’s Anatomy” fan fiction opens in theatres on July 31.
