Kate Hudson's father vows to ‘break all ties’ with her and sibling after ‘abandonment day’ pic

LOS ANGELES, June 28 — Goldie Hawn’s ex-husband Bill Hudson has vowed to “break all ties” with his two oldest children, Oliver and Kate Hudson, after a picture posted by Oliver Hudson on Instagram went viral, in an interview with The Mail on Sunday.

The snap, posted by Oliver Hudson on his Instagram account @theoliverhudson, shows a childhood snapshot of the actor and his sister with their father, with the message “Happy abandonment day”, implying that their father had abandoned them.

The actor later posted a picture of him with Hawn’s long-time partner Kurt Russell with the message, “Happy Father’s Day Pa.”

His sister, actress Kate Hudson, also posted a picture of herself with Kurt Russell on her @katehudson account, “Pa, just simply..... Thank you… Happy Fathers Day (sic) I love you to the moon and back,” with no mention of her biological father.

Singer and actor Bill Hudson, from the band The Hudson Brothers, married actress Goldie Hawn in 1976. After their divorce in 1980, their two children were raised by Hawn and her partner Kurt Russell.

He later married actress Cindy Williams and had two children with her, Emily and Zachary Hudson, before their divorce, and his youngest, Lalania Hudson, was from a relationship with a long-time girlfriend.

Hudson said, “I had five birth children but I now consider myself a father of three. I no longer recognise Oliver and Kate as my own,” he said, as quoted by The Mail.

“I would ask them to stop using the Hudson name. They are no longer a part of my life. Oliver’s Instagram post was a malicious, vicious, premeditated attack. He is dead to me now. As is Kate. I am mourning their loss even though they are still walking this earth,” he added.

Kate Hudson is a successful actress in her own right, starring in ‘Almost Famous’, ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’, and ‘Bride Wars’, while her brother Oliver is an actor and model best known for his role in CBS comedy ‘Rules of Engagement’.
