NEW YORK, June 26 — US singer Demi Lovato is the latest musician to get her own mobile game, joining Katy Perry and Britney Spears, who both have games on the way.
Pocket Gems has announced it’s working with Lovato on a new mobile game for its Episode platform. Further details come from Billboard, which reveals the game’s choose-your-own adventure storyline will allow players to build their own musical career and to join Lovato on tour and backstage.
She helped create her dialogue, as well as the clothes for her avatar, and both her recordings and her dog Buddy will be featured in the game.
Lovato’s game and others like it will no doubt be hoping to capitalize on the interest spurred by Kim Kardashian’s hugely successful mobile game, “Hollywood,” which was released in 2014 and gives players a taste of what being a superstar is all about.
In April, Glu Mobile, the team behind Kardashian’s mobile game, announced it would be working on a game with Britney Spears. The multi-year partnership will see the singer’s voice, likeness and “creative influence” make its way into a game expected out worldwide in the first half of 2016.
Spears joins Katy Perry, whose own deal with Glu was announced in February. Her game is due out later this year on iOS and Android and will feature the star’s “voice, likeness and personality in what it’s calling a “digital playground of global success and talent.”
More details on the both those games, and the stars’ involvement, are to come from Glu ahead of their launch.
Lovato’s game will likely be the first of the bunch to launch: it’s headed out later this summer, according to Bilboard. — AFP/Relaxnews
