LOS ANGELES, Jan 16 — The actor will headline the forthcoming thriller, which is due in theaters in February 2016.

To be directed by relative newcomer John Pogue, “Wake” centers on the sociopath Red Forrester, who returns to his childhood home on a remote island for the wake of his late brother. When the island comes under siege, Red must defend his family, despite the fact that they banished him from this very island several years earlier. Bruce Willis will play the title role.

“Wake” is announced around a month out from the Berlinale and the European Film Market, where the project will be shopped to international distributors.

Willis is due to return to theaters this November in Barry Levinson’s “Rock the Kasbah,” which also features Bill Murray, Zooey Deschanel and Kate Hudson. — AFP-Relaxnews
