NEW YORK, Oct 2 — Dominic Cooper, who played the father of Iron Man's alter ego Tony Stark in the "Captain America" movies, will reprise the role on ABC's spin-off series.

The actor also played Howard Stark in "Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter," the short film about the character played by Hayley Atwell since the first "Captain America" movie.

"Agent Carter," Marvel's latest spin-off TV series after "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," will premiere mid-season on ABC. Fans concerned with continuity can rest assured: the series is developed by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the screenwriters behind the two "Captain America" movies.

Agent Carter will also appear in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," which opens on May 1, 2015. Recent rumors, reinforced by a mystery date on Marvel's release schedule, suggest that the movie may be released in two parts, with the second installment hitting cinemas one year later. — AFP-Relaxnews
